Daimler Truck (DTG Germany): US order trends improve
DTG.DE (update): Daimler Truck enters the US fleet-order season with encouraging early signals for its EPA27-compliant truck. North America captured 48% of August orders versus roughly 40% of market volumes. The new model adds a roughly $6,000 compliance surcharge, but management says the resulting pricing remains competitive and was achieved without sacrificing profitability. With North America generating about half of group EBIT, management’s expected 2027 US market expansion is material. Customer acceptance remains unproven and final regulations unresolved, while slow European electric-truck adoption could result in penalties that absorb Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ profitability.
