It also offers Risk Data Suite that provides weather peril and natural disaster database; Gazetteer Management System that offers solutions for the local authorities to maintain street and land and property gazetteers; MarketBalance that helps communication companies to identify market potential and sales resources; confirm engineering, environmental, enterprise, customer services, and street works management systems; and software development kits for integrating location intelligence with existing business systems. Its solutions are used in communications, education, financial, government, healthcare, hotel and restaurant, insurance, media, mobile, real estate, and retail industrial applications. The company was formerly known as MapInfo Corporation and changed its name to Pitney Bowes MapInfo Corp. in April 2007. Pitney Bowes MapInfo Corp. was formerly a subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc. The company was founded in 1986 and is based in Troy, New York with additional offices in Greenwich, Australia; Windsor, the United Kingdom; and Toronto, Canada.
