Certegy Inc.

As of February 1, 2006, Certegy Inc. was acquired by Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. in a reverse merger transaction. Certegy, Inc. provides credit card, debit card, and other transaction processing and check risk management services to financial institutions and merchants in the United States and internationally. It operates in two segments, Card Services and Check Services. Card Services segment provides card issuer services in the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Thailand, and the Caribbean. It also offers merchant processing and e-banking services in the United State; and card issuer software, support, and consulting services in various other countries. These services enable banks, credit unions, retailers, and others to issue VISA and MasterCard credit and debit cards, private label cards, and other electronic payment cards for use by consumer and business accounts. Check Services segment provides check risk management services and related processing services to businesses accepting or cashing checks at the point-of-sale in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The company’s customers include hotels, automotive dealers, telecommunications companies, supermarkets, casinos, mail order houses, merchandisers, and other businesses. As of December 31, 2004, it serviced approximately 39 million card accounts and authorized approximately $40.3 billion of check transactions worldwide. The company was founded in 1961 as Telecredit and changed its name to Equifax PS, Inc. in March 2001. Subsequently, it changed its name to Certegy, Inc. in July 2001. Certegy is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida.
