Western Asset Emerging Markets Income Fund Inc. is a closed ended fixed income mutual launched and managed by Legg Mason Partners Fund Advisor, LLC. It is co-managed by Western Asset Management Company, Western Asset Management Company Limited, and Western Asset Management Company Pte. Ltd. The fund invests in fixed income markets across the globe. It invests in debt securities of government and government related issuers located in emerging market countries, including participations in loans between governments and financial institutions, and of entities organized to restructure the outstanding debt of such issuers, as well as in debt securities of corporate issuers located in emerging market countries. The fund was formerly known as Salomon Brothers Emerging Markets Income Fund II Inc.
