Anchor Financial Corporation

As of June 6, 2000, Anchor Financial Corp. was acquired by The South Financial Group Inc. Previously, Anchor Financial operated as the holding company for The Anchor Bank, which offered a range of banking services, including trust services, to both businesses and individuals in southern California. These services included regular and interest checking, money market, savings, and time deposit accounts, as well as personal and business loans. It also provided automated 24-hour banking; and Anchor PC Banking, which allowed customers to perform a range of banking functions from their home computers.
