As of August 24, 2001, Emap USA, Inc. was acquired by RentPath, LLC. In January 1999, The Petersen Companies, Inc. became an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of EMAP plc (EMAP) following the merger of EMAP Acquisition Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of EMAP, with and into Petersen, with Petersen as the surviving corporation. The Petersen Companies, Inc., prior to the merger, operated as a multimedia marketing solutions and brand development company with a diverse portfolio of publications, including monthly, bimonthly, and single issue or annual publications; television programs; licensing; tradeshows; consumer events; databases; custom publishing; and retail promotions. The company was founded in 1996 and was located in Los Angeles, California.
