Gerdau Special Steel North America manufactures engineered steel bars. The company offers engineered SQB bars, such as hot rolled bars, cold-finished bars, and quench and tempered bars. It also provides various specialized products that includes cut blanks, gun barrel steels, clean steels, steering rack blanks, camshaft blanks, and bearing quality steels. In addition, the company provides annealing, isothermal annealing, zinc phosphate and polymer coating, phosphate and oiling, normalize with fan cooling, oil quench and temper, neutral hardening, bar shearing, trucking, tube cutoff, spheroidize annealing, zinc phosphate and stearate lube coating, pickling and oiling, normalizing, stress relieving, polymer quench and temper, shot blasting, bar saw cutting, and EDI services. Gerdau Special Steel North America was formerly known as Gerdau MACSTEEL, Inc. and changed its name to Gerdau Special Steel North America in May 2011. The company was founded in 1927 and is based in Jackson, Michigan with manufacturing mills in Jackson, Michigan; Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Monroe, Michigan. It has metal processing facilities in Huntington, Indiana. As of April 23, 2008, Gerdau Special Steel North America operates as a subsidiary of Gerdau S.A.
