In January 1997, Walden Bancorp, Inc. and its subsidiary banks, The Co-operative Bank of Concord and The Braintree Savings Bank, were acquired by UST Corp. Previously, Walden Bancorp, Inc., through Concord and Braintree, provided financial products and services to businesses and individuals through a network of banking offices throughout eastern Massachusetts. Its lending operations focused on commercial and small business lending, commercial real estate loans, residential construction loans, residential first mortgages, home equity lines of credit, and consumer loans.
