As of December 20, 2002, Spectrian Corp. was acquired by REMEC, Inc. Spectrian Corp. engages in the development, manufacture, and supply of radio frequency amplifiers to cellular infrastructure manufacturers worldwide. It offers multicarrier and single carrier amplifiers for macrocell and microcell basestations for cellular, personal communication services, and wireless local loop. The company’s products are also used in the wireless data networks of Internet service providers. Spectrian Corp. was founded in 1984 as Microwave Modules & Devices, Inc. and changed its name to Spectrian Corporation in 1992. The company is based in Sunnyvale, California.
