The company’s manufacturing segment consists of conversion facilities including smelters, refineries, and rod mills. Its Molybdenum segment produces molybdenum, with mining, roasting, and processing facilities that produce molybdenum-based chemicals, molybdenum metal powder, and metallurgical products. In addition, the company roasts and processes material on a toll basis. It caters to contractors, distributors, and public and private utilities. Freeport Minerals Corporation was formerly known as Freeport-McMoRan Corporation and changed its name to Freeport Minerals Corporation in July, 2014.
