The fund is managed by BlackRock Fund Advisors. It invests in the public equity markets of Europe, Australasia, and the Far East. The fund seeks to invest, directly, in other ETF, and through derivatives such as foreign currency forward contracts, in stocks of companies operating across diversified sectors. It invests in low volatile stocks of companies across all market capitalizations. The fund uses derivatives to hedge non- U.S. currency fluctuations against the U.S. dollar. Currently, it invests a substantial portion of its portfolio against the iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol EAFE ETF. The fund seeks to replicate the performance of the MSCI EAFE Minimum Volatility (USD) 100% Hedged to USD Index, by using representative sampling technique. It was formerly known as iShares Trust - iShares Currency Hedged MSCI EAFE Minimum Volatility ETF. iShares Trust - iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol EAFE Currency Hedged ETF was formed on October 29, 2015 and is domiciled in the United States.
