As of July 1, 2006, Remington Oil and Gas Corporation was acquired by Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. Remington Oil and Gas Corporation engages in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas reserves in the offshore Gulf of Mexico and onshore Gulf Coast areas. As of December 31, 2005, the company had proved reserves of 18,381 million barrels of oil and 168.659 billion cubic feet of gas. As of the above date, Remington had 312,609 acres of gross developed oil and gas property, and owned varying working interests in 162 offshore Gulf of Mexico blocks. The company was founded in 1981 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
