As of December 2001, Discovery Zone, Inc went out of business. Discovery Zone, Inc. operates children's entertainment centers. The company owns 205 fun centers in 39 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It offers pay-for-play children entertainment for the age group of two to twelve years. Discovery Zone also owns two Block Party Stores, which target adult customers. In July, 1997, the company filed a voluntary petition, which also covers its domestic subsidiaries under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware.
