As of 2004, Atmos TXU Gas Company LP was acquired by Atmos Energy Corporation. TXU Gas Company LP provides natural gas marketing and procurement services to industrial, commercial and municipal customers. It also offers purchase, transmission, distribution, and sale of natural gas in the United States. It provides utility asset management services. As of June 30, 2004, the company serves approximately 1.4 million retail gas customers and owns and operates gas distribution mains, gas transportation and gathering pipelines, and underground storage reservoirs. It also provides transportation services to gas distribution companies, electricity generation plants, end-use industrial customers, and through-system shippers. The company was founded in 1909 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
