As of July 30, 2020, Eros International Plc was acquired by STX Productions, LLC, in a reverse merger transaction. Eros STX Global Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, co-produces, acquires, and distributes Indian language films in various formats worldwide. The company distributes its film content through various distribution channels, including theatrical, which includes multiplex chains and stand-alone theaters; television syndication that comprises satellite television broadcasting, cable television, and terrestrial television; and digital and ancillary, such as IPTV, video on demand, music, inflight entertainment, home video, and Internet channels, as well as through Eros Now online entertainment service. It also operates as a music publisher for the third party owned music rights. In addition, the company offers music content directly, as well as through third party platforms or licensing deals; and Eros Now Originals and Quickie content. It owns or licenses rights to approximately 3,000 films, and has digital rights to approximately 12,000 films, as well as short-form content, including music videos, trailers, original shorts exclusive interviews, and marketing shorts. As of March 31, 2020, it had 196.8 million registered users across Apps, WAPs, and Eros Now website; and 29.3 million paying subscribers. The company has a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to develop and create video technology. The company was formerly known as Eros International Plc and changed its name to Eros STX Global Corporation in September 2020. Eros STX Global Corporation was founded in 1977 and is based in Secaucus, New Jersey.
