Corporate Property Associates 18 - Global Incorporated

As of August 1, 2022, Corporate Property Associates 18 - Global Incorporated was acquired by W. P. Carey Inc.. Corporate Property Associates 18 – Global Incorporated (“CPA:18 – Global”), is a publicly owned, non-traded REIT, that invests primarily in a diversified portfolio of income-producing commercial real estate properties net leased to companies, both domestically and internationally. In addition, our portfolio includes self-storage and student housing investments. We were formed in 2012 and are managed by W. P. Carey Inc. (“WPC”) through one of its subsidiaries (collectively our “Advisor”). As a REIT, we are not subject to U.S. federal income taxes on income and gains that we distribute to our stockholders as long as we satisfy certain requirements, principally relating to the nature of our income and the level of our distributions, among other factors. We earn revenue primarily by leasing the properties we own to single corporate tenants, predominantly on a triple-net lease basis, which requires the tenant to pay substantially all of the costs associated with operating and maintaining the property. We derive self-storage revenue from rents received from customers who rent storage space primarily under month to-month leases for personal or business use. We earn student housing revenue primarily from leases of one year or less with individual students. Revenue is subject to fluctuation due to the timing of new lease transactions, lease terminations, lease expirations, contractual rent adjustments, tenant defaults, sales of properties, and changes in foreign currency exchange rates.
