The fund invests directly and through derivatives in U.S. dollar-denominated investment-grade tax-exempt, short-term fixed- and floating-rate municipal securities issued by California with remaining maturities of five years or less that are rated BBB- or higher by S&P and/or Fitch or Baa3 or higher by Moody’s. The fund seeks to benchmark the performance of its portfolio against the Bloomberg California Municipal 0-2 Year Index and the Bloomberg U.S. Municipal Bond Index.
