The fund is co-managed by SSGA Funds Management, Inc. and Loomis, Sayles & Company, L.P. It invests in fixed income markets of global emerging region. The fund invests directly and through other funds in debt obligations including securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government or its agencies, instrumentalities or sponsored corporations, inflation protected public obligations of the U.S. treasury, securitized credit securities, such as agency and non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities, agency and non-agency commercial mortgage-backed securities, agency and non-agency asset-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations. It invests in securities with a weighted average effective duration of 0 to 7 years. The fund employs fundamental and quantitative analysis to create its portfolio. The fund seeks to benchmark the performance of its portfolio against the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index and SPDR Loomis Sayles Opportunistic Bond Composite Index comprising of 50% of the Bloomberg US Corporate Bond Index, 25% of the Bloomberg US High Yield 2% Issuer Capped Index and 25% of the Morningstar LSTA US Leveraged Loan Index.
