It also engages in the designing and manufacturing equipment for the medical, science and research communities, including products for medical diagnostic equipment; high performance pressure, vacuum vessels, and composite materials for research organizations; and superconducting magnets and helium-free cryogenic systems for use in magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear magnetic resonance. Avingtrans plc was formerly known as Frank Usher Holding plc and changed its name to Avingtrans plc in November 2000. The company was incorporated in 1985 and is based in Chatteris, the United Kingdom.
