As of March 30, 2007, CareScience, Inc. was acquired by Premier, Inc. CareScience, Inc. provides care management services to hospitals and health systems. The company collects, shares, stores, and analyzes clinical data generated by used health information systems; and provides related care management services and staffing. It supplies the people and technology to the health care system. The company’s principal product offering is the Care Management System, which is an Internet-based suite of tools that helps to automate information flow and analysis throughout the care process. Its other product and service offerings include Care Data Exchange, consulting services, staffing and care management outsourcing. The Care Data Exchange indexes, locates, and provides access to clinical data from original source systems across enterprise boundaries. Its technology offers analytical techniques on risk-adjusted data for performance improvement measurement and monitoring and to exchange real-time clinical information within and across organizations. CareScience, Inc. was formerly known as Care Management Science Corporation and changed its name to CareScience, Inc. in March 2000. The company was founded in 1992 and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
